INTRODUCTION
The PuriFresh® Fresh Air Duct Adapter allows you to connect the fresh air intake of the PuriFresh® Clean Room to the fresh air outlet of the PuriFresh® Energy Recovery Ventilator. Now you can use your PuriFresh® Clean Room year-round without paying an arm and a leg for heat and humidification in winter, or air-conditioning in summer. Aside from the cost, comfort is enhanced because the air entering the room is much more comfortable, reducing hot or cold spots in the room when the weather outside is extreme.
II. INSTALLATION
Open the PuriFresh® Fresh
Air Duct Adapter Kit, shown in Figure 1, and verify that it contains the
following components:
1.
The
PuriFresh® Fresh Air Duct Adapter
2.
One
flexible 4 inch duct
3.
Two
#4 sheet metal screws with button “strikes” for the load rated latches.

Install the PuriFresh® Energy Recovery
Ventilator, carefully following all the instructions supplied with the
unit. If you have misplaced your
instructions, you can view them at our website, www.purifresh.com, or contact us for a
replacement. Screw the two #4 sheet
metal screws with strikes into the two holes shown in Figure 2. Do not over-tighten.

Figure 2:
Screw the two sheet metal screws with strikes into the two holes, one on each
side of the PuriFresh® ERV.

Hold the Fresh Air Duct Adapter up to the face of the ERV with the latches
swung to the sides, then secure the latches to the strikes and close them.
Hold the PuriFresh® Fresh Air Duct
Adapter up to the face of the PuriFresh® Energy Recovery Ventilator,
with the latches swung to the sides.
Secure the latches to the button strikes and close them, securing the
Fresh Air Duct Adapter to the Energy Recovery Ventilator as shown in Figure
3.
Place the PuriFresh® Clean Room close to
the PuriFresh® Energy Recovery Ventilator and connect the outlet of
the PuriFresh® Fresh Air Duct Adapter to the inlet of the PuriFresh®
Clean Room, using the flexible 4-inch duct supplied with your kit. Figure 4 shows the completed assembly. We use a commercially available product
called the DryerDockTM, to facilitate easy connection and
disconnection of the hose. The first
time, it is helpful to loosen the hose clamp for the second connection. Make
the connection. Then, tighten the hose
clamp.

using the PuriFresh® Fresh Air Duct Adapter.
After the connections have been made as
described above, plug both units into a power outlet, following all of the
precautions and requirements listed in the respective manuals.
Turn the PuriFresh® Clean Room on high. When operating the system, always have the
PuriFresh® Clean Room
on high. (If you wish to only run the
PuriFresh® Energy
Recovery Ventilator, disconnect the Fresh Air Duct Adapter from it, using the
two latches located on either side of the Fresh Air Duct Adapter.)
Turn the PuriFresh® Energy Recovery Ventilator on. When it is turned on the highest setting,
the flow of fresh outside air will be approximately 75 CFM (Cubic Feet per
Minute). When it is on the lowest
setting, the flow of fresh air will be approximately 55 CFM.
Follow the maintenance procedures for the PuriFresh®
Energy Recovery Ventilator and the PuriFresh® Clean Room, as
described in their respective manuals.
In addition, clean the black sponge filter of the
air intake on the Fresh Air Duct Adapter, on a regular basis. Referring to Figure 1, the black sponge
filter is on the right of the Fresh Air Duct Adapter. Since room air flows into the filter and dust collects on the
room side, it can be easily cleaned by vacuuming it with the dust attachment of
your vacuum cleaner.
The components of the kit have a full one year
warranty on manufacturers defects covering all parts and labor for repair. The warranty does not cover damage caused by
the consumer due to improper handling or installation. If you are experiencing a problem, first
contact us by phone, mail of fax. If we
cannot assist you in solving the difficulty, we will make arrangements to
either repair or replace the defective component.
